Hi, I’m Liz Hancocks, a qualified Counsellor, EFT and NLP Practitioner. I have a background of working within the medical profession both as a nurse and midwife. I provide affordable Counselling in west Cumbria to help you through difficult times. I can help you with building confidence, self-image and self-esteem as well as dealing with difficult issues from the past that keep cropping up and spoiling the present. I can also help you with issues around bullying and stress in the workplace. I have daytime and evening appointments available. I always aim to see you for your first session within a few days of contacting me.

If you are having difficulty coming to terms with something such as illness or the death of a loved one, if you are depressed or struggling with something and can’t cope, have been abused or bullied, having difficulties at home or at work, feeling stressed or anxious, having relationship difficulties or are struggling with issues of abuse from the past, then counselling may be able to help you explore these issues and find a solution.
Counselling offers you a safe and confidential environment in which to explore your issues with someone who is trained to listen and help you come to a resolution. By helping you to understand your difficulties can lead to positive changes for you. Everyone has the solutions to their issues within themselves, but may struggle to do it alone. Traumatic events and loss in its various forms can affect us all in profoundly different ways. My role as a counsellor is to help you explore ways to get to these solutions. It is about moving forward on your life journey with the experiences you have and exploring what may be holding you back. This may at times feel uncomfortable, but I will be on the journey with you by empathising and understanding.
Having worked in counselling for a number of years I can see the difference it makes to people’s lives when they work through issues that have been holding them back. People gain a new outlook on life and are able to move on to a more harmonious life and reach their full potential.
